You want to increase the leverage and (at the very least) maintain equal clamping pressure. "you start fucking around with the ABS computer's notions of how and when your car should stop." The ABS computer doesn't control how or when the car stops, my foot does. All the ABS does is detect tire slip and counter it. "Shorter stopping distances should not be your goal, repeatability should be." A 350Z rotor upgrade using Z32 calipers addresses both those issues effectively, and noticeably. Of course I agree that a good set of pads and tires are a prerequisite, but who wouldn't want more braking power for an equivalent pedal pressure, more fade resistance, while improving the look of stock rotors, for a relatively tiny amount of money?
